This life is a party - i aint ever growing up..

The build up.

sunny 0 °C

nervous. excited. anxious. happy. eager. sad. worried. and just going that slighttttly bit crazy.
the wait is KILLING me.

It's only two more sleeps to go.. well really it'll only be one because tonight it's party time, as it's one last reason to get dressed up before i leave.. and my stomach is in knots, but strangely i just want to get on the plane to London right NOW!
Everything is packed up in my rucksack which will feel as homely when i'm away as my favourite pyjamas will, beacause this big blue thing has provided me of much assisstance over the years, especially on my Duke of Edinburgh adventures.. not so much when the sheer weight of the thing pulled me into a bog however.. but i'm sure we'll be fine!

My life for three months all squeezed into one rucksack!

My life for three months all squeezed into one rucksack!

The camera is charged, the hand luggage is sorted, the iPod speakers are packed and ready to be blasted on our first night, but i can't help feeling i'm forgetting something.. It's probably the fact that i'm leaving people behind that makes me feel like i haven't packed something, or brought spares of something, or maybe i genuinely haven't packed underwear and will be in for a shock on our first day! My core. Thats what i call them. Thats who i'm leaving to party on without me for three months. These are my group of friends who i have spent the last week spending every second i can with them because i know i will miss there shinnagins like mad. But they have already been told that my facebook inbox better be filled with the news while i'm away or they will recieve NO presents, ha.

On a preperation note.. i am TRYINGGG to learn swahili. But it's just not happening. At all.
The only sentence i remember is: Kama mayai yako ni nzuri, i watanunua yao.
Which basically mean - if your eggs are good, i will buy them. very useful :/

I am flying down to London and arrive at five past three, where i will then, hopefully if i can find her, meet Bryony and possibly scream in an excitement a little and if shes lucky give her a really big hug! This is where our sign reading and navigational skills come into use as we try and locate Terminal 4 to meet the rest of the team at check-in. nerves, nerves, nerves. And then head on through security where we wait for our 8pm flight to... NAIROBI! oh my lord, it's happening.

If i haven't whipped out the deck of cards on thursday as we wait for our flight you may get another update - but until then it'll be two weeks before you hear from me because we will be living in Mwaluganje Elephant Sanctuary.. yessss i know you're jealous, but i WILL post photos, i promise.. and there is nothing there except us and nature so bye, bye computers!

peace out x
